Rooster windows replaced 2 bedroom windows in my house. Many window companies have a minimum of 4 windows, so I was very happy that Rooster would do the job for a good price. The installation was fast. They were finished in 1 hour. I would definitely use Rooster Windows again.

Rooster Windows and Doors are very good. I worked with Sebastian, who came out quickly and immediately understood the needs of my project (replacing the patio door). He provided a very detailed and reasonably priced quote. The installation was quick and completed to a high quality standard including the finish. I’m extremely happy with the results. Sebastian was wonderful to work with and he and his crew know what they are doing. I appreciated their quick and solid work, and I would use Rooster again.

Sebastian was very knowledgable, listened to our needs and answered all our questions. He was patient waiting for HOA approvals, and when the doors arrived early, he was flexible working with me to install them, even though I was on vacation. It was so nice to come home from vacation to a new set of great looking and sturdy storm doors along with a set of touch up paint for each door and tips to prevent sun damage. I would highly recommend Sebastian and Rooster Windows to anyone looking for door and window needs!

Peter and his team provided us with a great sales and installation experience for our Front Entry and Storm doors. This was truly terrific. Peter provided a prompt, initial onsite measuring of our entry and provided us with several door avenues to pursue based on our tastes and budget. We were kept uptown date through out the wording process and our installation was done when they said it would along with care and an expert install for both doors. They kept the work area neat and cleaned up completely afterwords leaving us with a beautiful new entry to our home.

Thank you! My wife and I appreciate the great service experience Peter.

Highly Recommend Rooster Windows and Doors.

Rooster Windows and Doors are fantastic. After dealing with multiple issues from a well‑known brand you constantly see advertised on TV, someone recommended that I reach out to Rooster—and I’m extremely glad I did.

I worked with Sebastian, who came out quickly and immediately understood the needs of my project. He provided a very detailed and reasonably priced quote, and once we decided to move forward, he and his partner provided everything needed for HOA approval. They also took care of obtaining the required building permit, which made the process completely stress‑free.

The project included replacing a very large 12‑foot sliding door, a large picture window, and a front door with a storm door. On installation day, they were courteous, professional, and meticulous. The workmanship was excellent, and they made sure everything was thoroughly cleaned up afterward.

I’m extremely happy with the results and am already looking forward to starting phase two of my project with Rooster Windows and Doors. Highly recommend!

Love our beautiful front door! Smaller company than the big names, but that just means we saved thousands on the exact same door (literally exactly the same brand name and everything) as the bigger company that hires installers and advertises more etc. Do not hesitate to use Rooster Windows and Doors. Professional all the way around.

Frequently Asked Question

Yes, we are a full-service “supply and install” company. Unlike big-box stores where you have to buy the product and find your own contractor, we handle the entire process. From custom measurements and helping you select the perfect energy-efficient window upgrades to the final window and door weatherproofing and debris removal, our expert team manages your project from start to finish in Libertyville and the surrounding Chicagoland area.

For the extreme temperature swings of the Midwest, we highly recommend premium vinyl window installation. Vinyl frames are virtually maintenance-free, resist warping, and offer excellent thermal insulation. When paired with Low-E glass and Argon gas fills, these residential window replacements create a powerful barrier against freezing winters and humid summers, drastically reducing your energy bills.

If you see condensation, fog, or ice forming between the panes of glass or on the interior surface, it means the thermal seal of your window has failed. This allows cold air to penetrate your home’s envelope. Our drafty window solutions involve replacing these failing units with airtight, double-hung or casement windows that restore your home’s thermal barrier and prevent moisture damage to your wood trim.

Absolutely. You do not have to suffer through a freezing winter with drafty windows. Our installation crews use a specialized “room-by-room” replacement technique. We close off the room we are working in and replace one window at a time to minimize heat loss. Exterior door installation and window replacements can be safely and effectively completed year-round.

A pocket insert involves placing a new window into the existing wooden frame. A full-frame installation means we tear out the entire old window, including the frame and trim, down to the rough opening. For many older homes in Lake and Cook Counties, full-frame is the best option because it allows us to inspect for hidden water rot, apply superior insulation, and maximize the visible glass area.

While wood is beautiful, it requires constant maintenance and tends to warp or rot in Chicago’s fluctuating humidity. Steel is secure but can dent and rust. Fiberglass door systems offer the best of both worlds: they can perfectly mimic the texture of real wood grain but are highly resistant to warping, rotting, and denting. They are the ultimate choice for a low-maintenance, high-security custom entry door.

Yes, we specialize in lower-level solutions. Replacing rusty, single-pane steel windows with custom hopper windows or sliding glass units improves basement ventilation and security. We also provide professional egress window installation, which is required by local building codes if you plan to finish your basement and add a bedroom, ensuring a safe emergency exit and bringing in abundant natural light.

Outdated, drafty windows and doors force your HVAC system to work overtime to maintain a comfortable temperature. By upgrading to tightly sealed, insulated custom picture windows, bow/bay windows, or modern sliding glass doors, you stop the transfer of heat. This reduces the strain on your furnace in the winter and your AC in the summer, leading to significantly lower monthly utility bills and a great return on investment.

While a whole-house residential window replacement is the most cost-effective and efficient approach, we understand that every budget is different. We frequently work with homeowners to replace windows in phases—often starting with the most problematic drafty windows or focusing on the front of the house first to boost curb appeal.

Permit requirements vary depending on your specific village or city (e.g., Libertyville vs. Naperville) and the scope of the work (such as altering the size of the opening for a custom bow window or an egress window). As your trusted local home improvement service, we are fully licensed and insured, and we will guide you through the permitting process to ensure all installations meet strict Illinois building codes.
